A meeting with Optergo

The Optergo representative who visits you is a certified consultant with in-depth knowledge in optics and ergonomics. In addition, he or she has experience in the challenges of a health professional’s work situation.

Optergo certifications are part of our quality assurance system. The certificates ensure a required competence level and compliance with our unique concept in terms of methodology, customization, and knowledge sharing.

The certifications are also an instrument for maintaining consistency throughout our worldwide operations. We have sales offices and certified representatives in 20 countries across the world. You access the same expertise, support, and state-of-the art products regardless of where you work.

Our methodology is based on the principles laid out by the European Society of Dental Ergonomics, complying with their standards.

First, we analyze your current work situation

Through dialogue and observations, we analyze your work set-up and how you sit, stand, and move in the environment. It’s a complex process with a host of details to take into account. The objective is to establish a balanced, natural posture that offers a clear view of the patient’s mouth and lets you work with ease and comfort.

The wrong posture causes strain in neck, shoulders, and back:
Too often, dentists tend to lean forward over the patient in order to get a clear view. The more you bend your neck, the heavier the head and the more muscle strain. Already with your neck in a 15 degree angle means your spine takes a load of 12 kilos.

Maintain a healthy posture:
A balanced posture involves a straight back and relaxed shoulders, the right seating height, lumbar support from the chair, and feet firmly on the floor. * Position the patient according to your working position – not the other way around.

Precise measurements for true customization:
A good part of the analysis are measurements. A precise measure of visual distance, for instance, is essential for determining the customization of optics.

Adapting the frames for a perfect personal fit:
The frames for the loupe system come in three sizes. They will, however, have to be adapted further for a perfect, individual fit.

In-depth interview to fulfill all needs and expectations:
During the consultation, we listen carefully to what you can tell us about your work – specialization, potential improvement areas, required optical magnifications, etc. Good vision is also needed when shifting your attention to surrounding computers and screens, and for eye contact with your colleagues – without having to remove your glasses.

The distance between pupils determines positioning of the loupes:
More input for customization. We measure the millimeter distance between the pupils to be able to place the loupes in a precise position on the carrier glass (your prescription glasses).

Picking the best choice from our wide range of loupe systems:
Trying on a set of loupes will give you an idea of how your view of the patient’s mouth is improved when you have found an ergonomic working position. We offer a choice of loupe systems.

BORN IN SWEDEN

A Swedish perspective

If you are looking for loupes, there is an abundance of suppliers. At a first glance they all appear the same. But we are different. Partly due to the higher value we deliver.
